Criteria
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Academic Excellence Endowed Scholarship supports outstanding Mechanical Engineering undergraduates in the Cullen College of Engineering. Applicants must be full-time junior or senior degree-seeking students in good academic standing at the University of Houston who demonstrate leadership qualities as determined by the College of Engineering Scholarship Committee and show a clear interest in pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering. Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship funds may be used to cover tuition, books, fees, and supplies for the upcoming academic semester. Recipients may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this award; however, any expenses in excess of the deposited amount are the responsibility of the student.
